CRADLE TO CRADLE CERTIFIED 4.0
At furnipart, we’ve been creating enduring design since 1977 – in both expression and quality. We believe the most sustainable choice begins with products built to last. Handles that stand the test of time – and the passing of trends. But we’re also aware that what we do has an impact. That manufacturing consumes resources and leaves a footprint.
That manufacturing consumes resources and leaves a footprint. That’s why we work every day to understand and improve – from the materials we choose to how we produce, from our partnerships to our packaging. Our approach to sustainability is driven by curiosity and commitment. We ask questions. We seek knowledge. And we take responsibility.

These five areas form the foundation of the Cradle to Cradle standard – and present the exact basis on which we document our progress and commitments.
ONE STEP AT A TIME - HAVING BIG AMBITIONS
We constantly challenge our designers and production to have them integrate sustainability and circular thinking at every stage. That is the case when we explore the possibilities of using new materials or making our products easier to recycle.
We have also set ambitious targets for our existing production. Since 2018, our chrome and anodised aluminium profiles have carried the Bronze label – and 75% of our zinc handles followed suit in 2022. We took the next step in 2025 and obtained certification according to the Cradle to Cradle Product Standard 4.0. In co-operation with our suppliers, we now present an even wider range of certified designs, colours and finishes – including new grey, beige and metallic surfaces.
The Cradle to Cradle Product Standard 4.0 excels thanks to comprehensive third-party control of material health and chemical ingredients as well as social considerations such as occupational safety, working hours and health protection. The certification provides us with the framework we need to work on improving product circularity, environmentally friendly production methods and social responsibility in a systematic, structured and, not least, measurable way.
It requires insight, investment and documentation – all the way from concept to finished product. Our production has therefore been thoroughly reviewed and assessed according to the five areas of the Cradle to Cradle Certified® standard. This includes every aspect from working environment to energy consumption – and every link in the production chain is continuously documented and improved. Our goal is to continue to expand our range of Cradle to Cradle-certified products to contribute to a circular economy where materials are designed to be recyclable and be part of closed cycles.
FROM CRADLE TO CRADLE
Cradle to Cradle® is so much more than a certification – it is a philosophy of a circular economy where products are designed to enter perpetual cycles. Rather than being "cradle to grave", our products are "cradle to cradle". We aim for our products to be a part of cycles that extend the life of materials – without compromising on functionality and quality.
PARTNERSHIPS AND THE FUTURE
Our collaboration with Vugge til Vugge ApS allows us expert guidance in the certification process and helps us to continuously improve our work. We need to re-certify every two years and to document concrete progress to maintain our status. This process is a step towards a production that is more responsible and transparent. Through the Cradle to Cradle Certification®, we strive to create products that are designed with both current needs as well as future challenges in mind. It is a long-term commitment to thinking holistically, taking responsibility and creating products that last beyond next season.
Design with care. Production with responsibility. And products with potential – to make a real difference.
