SCIENCE BASED TARGETS
Climate change requires targeted action and clear, science-based goals. At furnipart, we work systematically to reduce our climate footprint – both in our own operations and across the value chain to contribute to the global transition.
In 2025, furnipart’s climate targets were approved by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), confirming that we are aligned with limiting global warming to 1.5°C and achieving net-zero emissions by 2050.
SBTi provides companies with a clear and scientific framework for reducing CO₂ emissions. Targets are only approved if they meet SBTi’s criteria, which are based on the latest climate science and the ambitions of the Paris Agreement.
OUR TARGETS
We have set an ambitious and long-term direction for our climate efforts. With science-based targets, we are committed to reducing our total greenhouse gas emissions – both in our own operations and throughout the value chain. Our ambition is clear: significant reductions by 2030 and net-zero by 2050 in accordance with SBTi criteria.
SCOPE 1 & 2
By 2030, furnipart commits to reducing absolute Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions by 42% compared to the base year 2021.
SCOPE 3
We commit to reducing absolute Scope 3 emissions across the value chain.
NET-ZERO
Net-zero by 2050 with at least a 90% reduction across all scopes. (Remaining emissions may only be neutralised in accordance with SBTi criteria.)
OUR PATH TO REDUCTIONS
Our climate responsibility starts with us – but it does not end there.
We reduce our direct emissions through concrete actions and long-term investments. At the same time, we focus on the largest part of our climate footprint: the entire value chain.
From material selection and production to transport, packaging, and product lifetime, we integrate responsibility into every decision – including what happens after the sale. For us, it is not only about reducing emissions, but about designing solutions that last longer, enable circularity, and create change.
PROGRESS AND REPORTING
The approval of our climate targets commits us to real and significant CO₂ reductions. We annually calculate and report our emissions in accordance with the GHG Protocol and publish progress towards our reduction targets.
Targets are continuously reviewed and adjusted in case of significant changes, with updated calculations validated accordingly. To ensure alignment with the latest climate science, calculations and targets are updated at least every five years in accordance with current guidelines.
